Bezatal, a distinguished Egyptian Arabian stallion foaled in 1958, holds a celebrated place in endurance riding history. He is notably the only stallion to have won the prestigious Tevis Cup twice, achieving victories in 1965 and 1967 with rider Ed Johnson. In 1965, Bezatal completed the grueling 100-mile course in 11 hours and 38 minutes, and in 1967, he finished in 11 hours and 42 minutes .

Beyond his personal achievements, Bezatal's legacy endures through his progeny. His bloodline has produced multiple champions, including five Tevis Cup winners and two Haggin Cup recipients. Descendants of Bezatal have also secured titles as AERC National Champions and NATRC National Champions, and have set records in Arabian pari-mutuel racing. His lineage continues to influence endurance riding across the United States, Europe, and Canada .

In recognition of his significant contributions to the sport, Bezatal was inducted into the American Endurance Ride Conference Hall of Fame in 1987 . His enduring impact is a testament to his exceptional athleticism and the lasting influence of his bloodline in the world of endurance riding.
